On July 25, 2000 a song came out called "Who Let the Dogs Out?," a song that might be about the similarities between the way humans and dogs have sex. This would explain its use in over half of Disney-produced movies since then. It might also just be about partying like a dog, it's hard to tell. It is worth pointing out that at no point in the song's verses does it address the importance of returning the dogs to the place they were let out of. The Baha Men seem to express interest only in learning the identity of whomever released the dogs. Perhaps this is because it was them? Perhaps "Who let the dogs out" is an existential question. Who let the dogs out... of the womb? It is also unclear exactly how many of the dogs were wearing sunglasses.
As the original member of the Baha Men were exiled and replaced (à la the Pipettes), we may never know the real answers.
Let us now continue to celebrate the "Who Let the Dogs Out?" 10-Year Anniversary.
